(Name of employer) is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all our employees and any visitors to our workplace. We will pursue the highest possible standards of health and safety. We value employee input into the process and are committed to regular consultation with employees on health and safety issues.
All managers are accountable for the following:
• Providing a Safety System for continuous improvement in health and safety management.
• Regularly reviewing the Safety System in consultation with employees.
• Providing safe plant and systems of work.
• Identifying, assessing and managing hazards.
• Assisting all injured employees back to full and gainful employment.
• Ensuring all incidents and accidents are accurately recorded, reported and trends identified.
• Providing regular health and safety training for managers, supervisors and employee safety representatives.
• Recognising excellence and initiatives in health and safety performance.
Our Managers will ensure, as far as is reasonably practical, that we meet all our obligations under occupational health and safety legislation and applicable regulations, codes and standards.
We will undertake regular audits and reviews to identify hazards, assess the risks involved and set up control measures. In so doing, we will develop, monitor and modify all health and safety processes, considering all workplace influencers. These processes will be documented in the health and safety management system. This system will be reviewed and improved in consultation with employees on an annual basis or sooner should the need arise.
Employees are required to: • Take no action or inaction that may harm themselves or others in the workplace. • Cooperate with all reasonable health and safety provisions • Seek assistance or advice where the safe method of completing a job is not understood. • Correct or report any unsafe conditions that come to their attention.
This policy statement will be regularly reviewed to take account of new legislation and organisational changes. Management seeks the cooperation of all employees in fulfilling our health and safety commitments.
